ADCOM 2019 held at IIITB

The Advanced Computing and Communications Society (ACCS) unveiled the 25th edition of its flagship conference – Advanced Computing and Communications (ADCOM 2019) on September 5 at IIITB campus in Electronic city. This year, the conference explored the 5th generation of technology in cellular mobile and wireless communications (5G). 

In the two-day long event, Dr Charles Lobo, chief Postmaster general of Karnataka circle released a postal cover to mark the occasion. The cover is dedicated to the pioneers - Dr S Ramani of the Internet Hall of Fame, Prof V Rajaraman of the Indian Institute of Science, Dr N Seshagiri, founding Director General of National Informatics Centre and N Vittal, the then Secretary of department of electronics. Their yeoman service to the field contributed significantly to the growth and adoption of computing and communications technologies for mainstream India. 

According to the experts, 5G will serve as the enabling architecture and standard for Internet of Things (IoT), Low power Wide Area Networks and high-speed cellular systems leading to a variety of wireless applications requiring gigabits per seconds data transfer speeds with very low latency.
