iMtech Curriculum
How does the Integrated M.Tech. compare with a B.Tech. Programme?
Integrated M.Tech. is a 5-year Masters programme. Unlike the 4-year BE/B.Tech. programme where the student gets a BACHELORs degree at the end of 4 years, here the students get a POST-GRADUATE degree at the end of 5 years. So the prospects of the students are comparable with that of MASTERS programme students. IIITB's Masters students have been well-received so far both in Industry as well as Academia (for Doctoral studies).
Do I have to write GATE exam after joining Integrated M.Tech. for obtaining Masters degree?
No. You get admitted to Integrated M.Tech. based on your JEE (Mains) performance. The admission you get is directly for the Masters programme. Students need to write GATE exam for admissions to Masters programme only if they do a BE/B.Tech. separately.
Can I exit the Integrated M.Tech programme at the end of 4 years and obtain BE/B.Tech. degree?
No. There is no provision for exiting the Integrated M.Tech. programme in the middle to obtain a Bachelors degree.
