IIIT-Bangalore was pleased to host H.E. Esther Dweck, Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), Government of Brazil, along with Luanna Roncaratti, Deputy Secretary for Digital Government (MGI); Beatriz Vasconcellos, Deputy Secretary for Digital Transformation, Presidency of the Republic; Rodrigo Assumpção, President, Dataprev; and a senior delegation comprising representatives from federal ministries, digital agencies, and leading researchers in AI and digital public infrastructure.
The visit builds on the ongoing engagement between IIIT-B and MGI across digital public infrastructure initiatives in agriculture, education, and related public sector domains. Over the past two years, teams have been working together to examine how interoperable digital systems and open public platforms can support large-scale service delivery within federal governance contexts.
During the interaction at IIIT-B, the delegation engaged with faculty and programme teams on India’s experience with DPI, implementation pathways, institutional design, and emerging AI applications in public systems. Discussions focused on practical collaboration models and potential areas for expanded technical and research cooperation.
The meetings were substantive and constructive. Both sides expressed interest in advancing structured engagement and identifying clear next steps for continued Brazil–India collaboration.
IIIT-B looks forward to strengthening its partnership with MGI and deepening cooperation on digital public systems.
