  • Duration: 12 months (July-June); starting July 2024
     
  • Entry criteria: Applicants with any undergraduate degree (60% in their undergraduate degree); fresh undergrads as well as those with a few years of experience.
     
  • Placement opportunities:
    • Sectors: Product teams in start-ups, social enterprises or large corporations targeting the next billion users (through Tech4Good initiatives, for example); Public/Social Sector consulting teams
    • Job Roles: UX/User Researcher, Product Manager, Product Designer, Business Analyst, Technology Consultant
  • Curriculum

Preparatory term (4 weeks)

  • To focus on inputs/training on comprehension/writing/communication skills as well as readiness on other aspects of the curriculum and pedagogical approaches;
  • Aspects related to digital [accessibility] tools and techniques will also be provided, especially for persons with disabilities.
  • To also focus on aspects of working in inclusive teams

Semester 1: 16 credits (4 core courses)

  • Data Analysis and Visualization
  • User Research using Qualitative Methods
  • Information Economics and Product Finance
  • Software Product Management

Semester 2: 24 credits (3 core courses + 1 elective course + 4-month capstone project)

  • Innovation and Design Thinking
  • User Experience (UX)
  • System Modelling and Design Patterns
  • 1 Elective [tentative list: Accessibility and Inclusive Design; Entrepreneurship; Technology, Law and Public Policy; Software Production Engineering/DevOps; Web Science and Cognitive Psychology]
  • 4 Months Capstone Project (March-June)

 

Master of Science (by Research)

Candidates who complete their PG programme will be considered for direct admission to Master of Science (by Research) in the Digital Society research domain. Their suitability for admission to Master of Science (by Research) will be ascertained by an internal committee based on their performance in the PG Diploma. If admitted, they will be allowed to carry forward 16 course credits, which will offset their coursework related credit requirement for Master of Science (by Research). Such candidates would only be required to complete the required thesis/research credits and any other applicable academic requirements to be eligible for award of the Master of Science (by Research) degree.
