[12/2018] Demonstrated our work on upper limb exoskeleton, Lower limb DVT devices, Autonomous surgical drilling tool, and EEG based head gear in Bangalore Tech Summit, held in Bangalore Palace on 29th November to 1st December, 2018.

[11/2018] Our manuscript on "Design and analysis of a minimally invasive and ECG controlled Ventricular Assistive Device" is accepted in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems Conference 2019 to be held in New Delhi on January 7-9, 2019. Prajwal Sharma (IIITB), Prashanthi K (IIITB), Krishna Nagaraj (IIITB), Vinay Chandraekhar (IIITB), Dr. Vikas V (NIMHANS), and Dr. Madhav Rao (IIITB) are the authors of the paper.

[10/2018] Vinay Chandrashekar won the 1st Place Poster Student Paper Award in IEEE Sensors 2018 for his paper on Motion Adaptive Image Capture in a Body-Worn Wearable Sensor, The co-authors of the paper are Masudul Imtiaz and Edward Sazonov, of the University of Alabama.

[10/2018] Prajwal Sharma and Krishna Nagaraj presented paper titled "Development of a minimally invasive Ventricular Assistive Device" in IEEE Sensors 2018 conference held in New Delhi on October 29-31, 2018. Prajwal Sharma (IIITB), Prashanthi K (IIITB), Krishna Nagaraj (IIITB), Dr. Vikas V (NIMHANS), and Dr. Madhav Rao (IIITB) are the authors of the paper.

[6/2018] Dr. Madhav Rao is invited as one of Young Indian delegates to visit Israel as a part of "Discover Israel Program" from September 1 to September 7, 2018.

[5/2018] Our paper titled "Design and Analysis of High Impedance surface modified 3D antennas" got published in CSI Transactions on ICT in May, 2018. The authors are Madhav Rao and Sowmya N.

[4/2018] Our paper titled "Stick diagram representation for nanomagnetic logic based combinational circuits" got accepted in IEEE NANO 2018 to held in Ireland, in July, 2018. The authors are Neha Oraon and Madhav Rao

[4/2018] IBM Shared University Program funded a research project on "AI assisted Anthropomimetic device for Upper limb". The work is carried by Vinay Chandrashekar (iMTech 2015) and Madhav Rao.

[11/2017] iMtech 2015 batch students: Vinay Chandrasekhar, Krishna Nagaraj, and Aravind Reddy won the "Young Innovators Award" in MeltingPot 2020 event, held in hyderabad on 14-15, November, 2017. The students demonstrated prototypes of upper limb exoskeleton, lower limb DVT prophylaxis device, programmable braille device and surgical probes in the event.

[11/2017]IIITB won the "Exemplary student driven innovation ecosystem" award in MeltingPot 2020 event, held in Hyderabad on 14-15, November, 2017 for showcasing prototypes of surgical and assistive devices. This work is carried in SARL lab affiliated to EHRC, IIITB. The research work on these devices is carried by IIITB incollaboration with NIMHANS faculty.

[9/2017] Our paper titled "Cognitive State Signature Analyses Using Single Channel EEG Data" got accepted in EUSPICO-17 conference. EUSIPCO 2017 to held in Kos Island, Greece, in September, 2017. The authors are Kumaresh K, Gopika G, Madhav Rao, and Neelam Sinha.

[8/2017] A provisional patent application on Surgical Snake Robot was filed in August, 2017. This work was primarily done by Aravind Reddy (iMTech 2015 ECE student).

[8/2017] A patent application on upper limb exoskeleton device was filed in July, 2017. TiFAC PFC organization has funded for the patent application. This work was primarily done by Vinay Chandrashekar (iMTech 2015 ECE student).

[5/2017] Our paper titled "Electrical Modeling of Copper/Multiwalled Carbon nanotubes for 3D IC applications" got accepted in IEEE Nano 2017 to be held in Pittsburgh, USA, in July, 2017.

[4/2017] A patent application on wearable integrated footwear device to overcome FoG for patients suffering from Parkinson Disease, was filed in April, 2017. This work was primarily done by Vinay Chandrashekar (iMTech 2015 ECE student).

[4/2017] Gaurangi Gupta from IIT Kanpur presented our paper titled "Performance Enhancement of 3D Posts based Antenna using High Impedance Surface" in IESC, 2017 conference held in Shillong, India, in April, 2017. The other authors of the paper are A. R. Harish from IIT Kanpur and Madhav Rao from IIIT-Bangalore.

[12/2016] Our paper titled "Vertical delay modeling of copper/carbon nanotube composites in a tapered through silicon via" got accepted in ECTC 2017 to be held in Florida, USA, in May-June, 2017.

[12/2016] TIFAC PFC has approved to support in filing an Indian patent for our work on "Upper limb exoskeleton" in collaboration with NIHMANS. This work was developed by iMTech ECE student Vinay Chandrashekar under the guidance of Dr. Madhav Rao from IIITB, Dr. Vikas V from NIHMANS and Dr. Laxmi Rao from NIHMANS.

[04/2016] Our paper titled "Analysis of switching energy and delay for magnetic logic devices" got accepted in IEEE Computer Society of Annual Symposium of VLSI to be held in Pittsburgh, Peensylvania, USA on 11 to 13th July, 2016.

[03/2016] Advanced Computing and Communications Society hosted One day ARM Student Design Contest on Smart Transport Systems on Saturday 26th March 2016 in IIITB. The Design Contest was aimed at innovative solutions implementing Smart Transportation Subsystems using a combination of embedded system, wireless and sensor technologies. This edition of the contest received as many as 160 entries ranging from Cooperative Driving Systems using vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, traffic management systems, safety systems, disincentives for unnecessary honking to Wireless-based system using RFID tags to locate, identify, monitor moving vehicles.

[03/2016] HiDES lab hosted 3 day Faculty Development Program on Digital Signal Processing, organized by IIITB and Advanced Computing and Communications Society from March 1 to 3, 2016. The three day hands-on workshop was attended by faculty from more than 15 various institutes in India. Professor Donald S. Reay from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh UK, was the instructor for this workshop.

Putluru Sravani (former MS student from IIIT-Bangalore, Gaurangi Gupta (IIT Kanpur Ph.D student), A. R. Harish (Professor in IIT Kanpur) and Madhav Rao are the authors of the paper.

[07/2015] Dr. Ranganatha K has joined as Post Doctoral Fellow in IPC center, IISc and is working with Professor Munichandriah.

[06/2015] Madhav Rao presented a paper titled Design and analysis of magnetic logic device for next generation data processing in 19th International Conference on VLSI Design and testing 2015. Madhav Rao, Neha Oraon, and Ranganatha S are the authors of the paper.

[06/2015] Rahul R (MTech2013) succesfully defended his MTech thesis on "Research and Development of a Visually Programmable Robot integrated with Augmented Reality Engine for academic users" on June 9th 2015. Rahul will be graduating from IIITB in July 2015. He will be the first MTech student to graduate in IIITB from HiDES lab.

[05/2015] Dr. Ranganath Kamath (Post-Doc) presented a poster on "Building electric current driven nanomagnetic logic device" for Indian Nanoelectronics Users Program (INUP) familiarization workshop held on May 29th, 2015 in IIT-Bombay, Center of Nanoelectronics. The authors of the Posters are Ranganath S, Neha Oraon and Madhav Rao.

[05/2015] Our paper titled "A Solder Based Self Assembly Project In An Introductory IC Fabrication Course" is accepted and will be published in American Journal of Engineering Education in June, Volume 6, Number 1, Page 11-26, 2015 The authors of the paper are Madhav Rao from IIITB, Dr. Susan Burkett and Dr. John Lusth from The University of Alabama.

[05/2015] Putluru Sravani succesfully defended her Masters thesis on "Design of 3D antennas for 24 GHz ISM band applications" on April 30th, 2015. Sravani will be graduating from IIITB in July 2015. She will be the first MS research student to graduate from HiDES lab. Sravani started her MS by Research degree in August 2013 and completed her thesis in May 2015 (in a span of 4 regular semesters).

[01/2015] IIITB (ESD group) hosted a lecture by Dr. Walden C Rhines, CEO of Mentorgraphics LTD on "Silicon Secure: Enablers for the IOTs" on 5th January 2015 at 4 PM in room 106. The video of this talk is available in this link.

[01/2015] Mentorgraphics has donated EDA and Thermal analysis tools of high value to IIITBangalore. The mutual collaboration was kickstarted on 5th January, 2015 by the visit of Dr. Walden C Rhines, CEO of Mentorgraphics in IIITBangalore.

[01/2015] B. Laasya (iMTech2013) and Trisha M (iMTech2013) got selected for IDEATHON event in VLSI DESIGN 2015 conference . Their proposal on "A shoe based sensory system to link physical and environmental factors affecting human health, integrated with a fall detecting mechanism" was selected for the three day hackathon event.

[09/2014] Yashvanth Kondi (iMTech2012) and Daksh Varshneya (iMTech2012) paper on An Interdisciplinary, Dialogic Approach to Develop an Electronic Device to Enhance Freedom and Mobility of Women in Public Spaces in the Indian Context - Illustrated by the Case of Convers[t]ation got accepted for oral presentation in 2014 IEEE GHTC-SAS, to be held on September 26-27, 2014.

[09/2014] Tanmayee Narendra (iMTech2012) and Pawan Dhananjay (iMTech2012) have started working on waste management project in collaboration with Fields of View and Media Lab Amsterdam. The project is funded by Cisco.

[09/2014] Nigel Fernandez (iMTech2013) and Kumaresh Krishnan (iMTech2013) are working on developing an GSM based donation device. The project is sponsored by Akshaya Patra Foundations. Prof Srikanth, Mr. Ramesh and Aditya Paliwal (iMtech2013) are also involved in this project.

[09/2014] Dr. Madhav Rao delivered a lecture on Electronics for societal needs for JNV Shimoga High School students on 29th August, 2014.

[08/2014] IIITB (ESD group) hosted a lecture by Prof Ramgopal Rao on "Nanotechnology and Product development: Challenges and Opportunities" in association with Infosys Science Foundation on 14th August 2014 at 2 PM in room 106.

[08/2014] B. Laasya (iMTech2013) and Trisha M (iMTech2013) got selected for final round in IEEE humanitarian Challenge, 2014. Their proposal was on developing a "A smart shoe based environmental pollution and human activity recognition system". Around 350 proposals from Asia Pacific (IEEE Region 10) were received and 25 proposals were selected for funding. The project teams will be given 250 USD to complete and demonstrate the prototype by November 2014.

[08/2014] Yashvanth Kondi (iMTech2012) and Daksh Varshneya (iMTech2012) got selected for final round in Intel India Embedded Challenge, 2014. Their proposal was on developing a robust reporting tool for women safety in India. Around 600 proposals from India were received in the first round. 130 proposals were selected for second round. Of the 130 proposal, 44 proposals are selected for finals. For the final round, Intel India will be providing an Intel Atom processor and other components for developing the prototype. The final round includes prototype demonstration and face to face interactions with the Jury of Intel India Embedded Challenge. The finals will be held in the month of December 2014.

[05/2014] SERB, DST sanctions research funding for nanomagnetic logic device work.

[05/2014] A workshop on programmable electronics and robotics was organized to ExciTe (SRI KUMARAN High School) students in HiDES lab on May 2, 2014. Students used iRobots, Electric Ray robot and Arduino microcontroller in this workshop. Dr. Madhav Rao gave a talk on Programming for electronics for this workshop. Rahul R (MTech 2013), Adhisaya (CEEMS Lab incharge) and Nandeep (HiDES Lab incharge) were the coordinators for this event.

[04/2014] Dr. Madhav Rao presented a research paper on Self assembly based high frequency 3D heatsink antenna in 2014 IEEE TENSYMP conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on April 14th 2014.

[03/2014] Four faculty from IIIT-Bangalore (Dr. Subir Roy, Dr. Subhajit Sen, Dr. Srinath Naidu and Dr. Madhav Rao) visited University of Cambridge from 9th March to 14th March and discussed on possible research work, student exchange programs and commercialization of technology. The visit was funded by British High Commission.

[02/2014] Three faculty from IIIT-Bangalore (Dr. Subir Roy, Dr. Subhajit Sen and Dr. Madhav Rao) participated in Indian Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) Vission Summit on 3rd and 4th February in Bangalore.
