We are hiring!

There are JRF/SRF openings on two sponsored projects (one with FRHS and the other with IBM) and an internal project on visual analytics projects. We are looking for someone passionate about big data analytics (spatiotemporal and multivariate) using visualizations integrated with other data science algorithms.

Minimum requirements are B.Tech. (in computer science/ mechanical engineering/ information technology) or M.Tech. in (computer science/ information technology) with proficiency in object oriented programming (C++/Java), and good academic record in mathematics. Experience in computer graphics, data visualization, Javascript and Python programming, and/or databases are bonuses.
The project descriptions are:

  1. IBM project is on building big data tools and visualization applications for visual analytics of population health survey data.

  2. FRHS project is on building graphical user interfaces for visual analytics of survey data.

  3. The internal project is on visual analytics of transport networks.

[03/2018] The proposal by Jaya Sreevalsan Nair titled "Visual analytics of population health surveys" has received an IBM Shared University Grant. The project will be implemented at GVCL and the E-health Research Center.

[02/2018] GVCL co-organized and participated in Bangalore Vis Workshop 2018, held at IISc.

[01/2018] Jaya Sreevalsan Nair presented the paper
"Design Study for Creating Pathfinder: A Visualization Tool for Generating Software Test Plans Using Model Based Testing" (co-authored by Kuruvilla Lukose, Shivam Agarwal, and Vidyashankar Nagesha Rao) at IVAPP 2018 in Madeira, Portugal.

[IIIT Bhubhaneshwar, B.Tech., CSE, expected in 2018] is working on her B.Tech. project during January-April 2018.

An article by Jaya Sreevalsan Nair, "Paving the Way for Geovisual Analytics" has appeared in Issue 3 of Advanced Computing & Communication, a quarterly publication of ACCS, in December 2017.
