Student Profiles

IIIT-B attracts outstanding students from all parts of India. The quality of the students of the M.Tech program can be judged from the fact that the 150-strong batch is typically chosen out of several thousands of applicants with First Class Engineering undergraduate degrees. The students are drawn from some of the best Institutions in India - IIT's, IIIT's, IISc, NIT's, University Colleges and other well-known Engineering Colleges. In some cases we have students who have done their Master's Degrees from other well-known Institutions - ME from IISc, M Tech from IIT, Delhi and an MBA from University of Houston. Some students come to IIIT-B with several years of work experience, though the majority are freshers from college with an Undergraduate Degree in EE/CS. Our gifted students have many achievements already, both in terms of curricular and extra-curricular activities (Math Olympiad, National Science Talent Scholar, Rank Holders in JEE / CET, college or University-level sportsmen and sportswomen), bringing in a lot of life and action to the Institute during their two-year stay at IIIT-B.

The Industry has naturally been lapping up our students with offers that are both intellectually challenging and financially rewarding. These 1396 -strong alumni are the true 'Ambassadors of IIIT-B', who keep the 'IIIT-B flag flying high' across the continents.
