Professor
Sadagopan is currently the founder Director
of the Indian
Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, a Graduate
School in IT. He currently teaches courses manly in the areas of IT.
Earlier he had taught at two premier educational Institutes in India,
namely, the
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, (IITK) during 1980
- 1995 and the
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore,
(IIMB) during 1995-1999 as well as IIT Madras (1987-88), AIT Bangkok,
Thailand (Fall 1990) and Rutgers New Jersey, USA (Spring 1997).
As for his teaching experience, Professor
Sadagopan had visited and / or taught at
several Universities / Institutions throughout the world - Purdue,
RUTGERS, MIT, Stanford, U Washington, VCU (USA), Nijenrode (Netherlands),
RMIT, UNSW, UWS (Australia), AIT (Thailand), ADBI, UNU (Japan),
Reunion University (Indian Ocean), Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore),
Indian Institutes of Technology IIT's- Kanpur, Madras, Indian
Institute of Science - Bangalore, Indian Institutes of Management
IIM's - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Administrative Staff College of
India ASCII - Hyderabad, LBS Academy of Administration -Mussourie, MDI
- Gurgaon, TAPMI, Amrita Institute of Management, MIT - Manipal, SV
University - Tirupati (India), to name a few.
At IIT Kanpur he has developed and taught courses on Operations
Research, Decision Support Systems, Multi-criteria Optimization,
Operations Management, Probability & Statistics, Stochastic processes,
Database, Programming Languages, Data Structures, and Algorithms. At
IIT Madras he taught courses on Graph Theory and Network Flows.
At Rutgers and AIT he taught courses on MIS. At IIM
Bangalore he taught courses on Operations Research and developed
the courses on Multimedia, E-Commerce, ERP and Networking &
Communications. At iiit-b he has been teaching and developing
courses on Enterprise Systems, E Commerce, Supply Chain, CRM,
Networking, Programming Languages, CAD/ CAM / Robotics, Software
Architecture and Dynamics of IT Industry.
For most of the courses Professor Sadagopan develops extensive
teaching materials, lecture notes, problems, projects and often even
solutions that are freely distributed over the Web. Dozens of
instructors and hundreds of students have benefited from this “open
courseware”
