Mr. M N Vidyashankar, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Departments of Information Technology, Biotechnology, Science and Technology and e-Governance .

Mr. Vidyashankar holds a M.A. Degree in Economics and M.Phil. from the Delhi School of Economics and a MBA from Harvard University, USA. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1982 and served in different departments in the state government including Rural Development, Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Panchayat Raj, Agriculture and Energy. He also served in the Ministry of Personnel and Public Grievances, Government of India. He was Chairman BWSSB, Commissioner BDA and Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department.

Mr. Vidyashankar's areas of interest include downsizing, re-engineering, e-governance, business process outsourcing, customer relations and enterprise resource planning. Currently Mr. Vidyashankar is Principal Secretary to the Government, Departments of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology and e-Governance .
