  • Daimler Chrysler was the first to institute a Chair Professorship in Automotive IT in the year 2001. Formally announced in a Press Conference in 2001, through this Chair IIIT-B got financial support for four years
     
  • ICICI Chair was funded in the year 2002. Currently Professor Balaji Parthasarathy holds the ICICI Chair.
     
  • iFlex Chair was instituted in the year 2002. It continued till 2004.
     
  • HP Chair was instituted in 2003. Currently Professor Das holds the HP Chair.
     
  • STPI Chair was instituted in the year 2003 and continued till 2005.
     
  • Canara Bank endowed a chair professorship on June 9, 2008
