I.                    Open Calls for Fellowship Applications:

1.      Doctoral Fellowships:

Networking and Communication Lab (NCL; www.iiitb.ac.in/ncl) of IIIT Bangalore seeks bright students for doctoral fellowships for Indo-Dutch collaboration project COPAS (Cooperating Objects for Privacy Aware Smart public buildings).

The aim of the COPAS project is to design a strategy for smart, energy saving, privacy aware semi-public buildings. The project will involve building an extensive sensor network, collecting and analyzing data collected from this network. Work will also be done on self-organizing networks for improving the adaptability of such system.

The candidate is expected to spend about 6 months working at University of Twente, Netherlands. The candidate will also be working closely with our industrial partner Cognizant for the project.

·         Minimum Qualifications:

Recent M.Tech. or equivalent degree in CS, ECE, IT, Networking, Communication etc. or waiting for Defence after submission of thesis (if admissible).

Preferably candidate should have knowledge of wireless sensor networks, embedded systems, data analytics, machine learning, pattern recognition, and classification. Previous experience with programming of embedded devices and building real-world sensing systems is considered as a positive point. The candidate to have an excellent command of English language as well as presentation skills.

·         Fellowship Amount:

Fellowship amount for a candidate will be Rs. 30,000 pm depending on qualifications and experience. This range may be revised upwards periodically.

2.      Post- Doctoral Fellowships:

A.                 Position 1:

Networking and Communication Lab (NCL; www.iiitb.ac.in/ncl) of IIIT Bangalore seeks to appoint post-doctoral fellows (PDFs) for Indo-Dutch collaboration project COPAS (Cooperating Objects for Privacy Aware Smart public buildings).

The aim of the COPAS project is to design a strategy for smart, energy saving, privacy aware semi-public buildings. The project will involve building an extensive sensor network, collecting and analyzing data collected from this network. Work will also be done on self-organizing networks for improving the adaptability of such system.

This is a joint position between IIITB and University of Twente (UT), Netherlands. The candidate is expected to spend about 2 years in Netherlands and 2 years at IIITB. The candidate will also be working closely with our industrial partner Cognizant for the project.

·         Minimum Qualifications:

Recent PhD or waiting for Defence after submission of thesis (if admissible). Candidates who have completed their earlier post-doctoral fellowship assignment are also eligible. Young faculty member with PhD, who wants to do only R&D activity.

Candidate should have knowledge of wireless sensor networks, embedded systems, data analytics, machine learning, pattern recognition, and classification. Previous experience with programming of embedded devices and building real-world sensing systems is considered as a positive point. The candidate to have an excellent command of English language as well as presentation skills.

·         Fellowship Amount:

Fellowship amount for a candidate will be Rs. 60,000 pm depending on qualifications and experience. This range may be revised upwards periodically.

·         Duration of the appointment:

One year and may be extended on mutual requirement and availability. Duration cannot exceed four years.

B.                  Position 2:
