INVITING FACULTY APPLICANTS

 

IIIT-B invites applications for faculty positions, from those with a strong commitment to teaching and inter-disciplinary research, in the following areas (with expertise that includes, but is not limited to):

 

  • Computer Science (algorithms and complexity theory, formal methods and logic, cryptography, computer architecture, systems, distributed computing, computational geometry, graphics, gaming, modeling, simulation, visualization, artificial intelligence, robotics, computer vision)
     
  • Data and Information Engineering (DBMS, information search and retrieval, data mining and warehousing, enterprise and geographical information systems, multi-agent systems, bio-informatics)
     
  • Software Engineering (programming languages, software architecture, requirements engineering, program analysis, software reliability)
     
  • Communications and Networking (digital and analog communication, wireless access networks, mobile computing, sensor networks, network protocols, multimedia systems, security, industrial informatics)
     
  • Embedded Systems and VLSI (real-time systems, hardware-software co-design, analog and mixed signal VLSI design, digital VLSI design, testability of VLSI chips, electronic design automation)
     
  • Information Technology and Society (information economics, political-economy of the information technology industry, organizational and spatial impacts of information technology, information and communications technologies for development including e-governance and other policy domains, intellectual property, human-computer interaction and design)

 

Applicants with a consistently excellent academic record, who have either earned a PhD, or will do so shortly, in computer science, electronics or electrical engineering, or in any relevant area in the applied mathematical/physical sciences, are welcome to apply. Applicants with a PhD in the social sciences, with relevant experience, will also be considered for the Information Technology and Society area. In addition to applications at the Assistant Professor level, those with a distinguished teaching and research record are welcome to apply for Associate and full Professor positions. Applications are also welcome for Visiting and Adjunct Professor positions. In rare circumstances, the PhD requirement may be relaxed for those with exceptional professional accomplishments.

Applications will be processed as and when received. Applicants are requested to send the following material to: faculty-search-committee@iiitb.ac.in

  (i) curriculum vitae, listing their education, teaching and research experience, publications, and the names and addresses of at least three referees
 

 (ii) a research statement (~2 pages), outlining the research ideas/goals that they would like to pursue over the next 3-5 years
 

(iii) a teaching statement (~2 pages), outlining the undergraduate and graduate level courses that they will be interested in teaching
