Professor Sumit Mediratta received BE in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), Indore. After that, he joined University of Southern California, Los Angeles to pursue his master’s and doctoral studies. The focus of his MS was on VLSI Design and his PhD was on interconnection networks. After completing PhD, he served NVIDIA Graphics Pvt. Ltd. at the positions of Senior Platform Architect and Senior ASIC Design Engineer. At NVIDIA, he was involved in variety of design and verification activities related to various aspects of Media and Communications Processors and discrete Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). He also served General Motors at the position of Senior Researcher. There, he initiated few research projects in the domain of automobile E/E (electrical and electronics) architecture. He has published several papers in international conferences and journals. He also authored several internal technical publications during his industry experience.

        
His current areas of interest are: - Embedded systems; Digital signal processing; Reconfigurable computing architectures; Interconnection networks; Architectures of advanced SOCs, GPUs and CPUs; Automotive electrical and electronic system architectures; Fault-tolerant computer systems; Performance modeling, analysis and evaluation.
